Thoughtful Thursdays

Afternoon, my lovely readers,

I am back for another Thoughtful Thursdays question. Recently I have had lots of comments saying what I have posted or written is inspirational, and I want to hear your favourite inspirational quotes to get us in a lovely mood before the weekend. It could be from a book, a film, or just something someone has said to in passing. Let me know and lets get inspired 🙂 ❤

Thoughtful Thursdays/ Forgetful Fridays

Good Afternoon my littlebloggers!

The first thing to say is that with all this internship stuff I completely forgot about my ‘Thoughtful Thursdays post. Huge apologies, however my life has kind of been thrown upside down this week. I’ve been in and out of the office, typing bits, reading bits, editing photographs and uploading them and if I’m honest this went completely out of my mind. Enough with the excuses though…and onto the question!

Since I have been incredibly busy, reading has been a little difficult. My question is, how do you get your reading hit when you’re incredibly busy? It sounds silly, but I mean the times when reading is just out of the question; either your busy in the evenings meeting friends, or working hard at the weekend catching up on work? My main way is to go through my email inbox and have a little look through all the amazing blogs that have been posting during the week, but what about you?

Is it the newspaper on the train? Or maybe a quick chapter on your lunch break at work?

Let me know!

Good Morning Littlebloggers!

It is time for another wonderful thoughtful Thursdays post and today the question revolves around favorite books. See many of the books on my bookshelf are battered and worn. Some have faded from being too close to the window and others are a little squished from being too close together. However, if you could own a perfect, first edition copy of any book what would it be and why?

Musing Mondays: mylittlebookblog

Musing Mondays is a weekly meme hosted by MizB that asks you to muse about one of several “bookish” questions… you can check the blog out here: http://shouldbereading.wordpress.com! Now my post today comes after reading this post here: http://bookmammalmusings.wordpress.com/2014/06/16/monday-musings-a-book-blogger-quiz/ So, here we go!

Here’s my musing for this week–

Here is The Book Blogger Quiz as featured on Amanda’s Nose In A Book, below are my answers! Comment your answers at the bottom if you fancy! 🙂 ❤

What are your top three book pet hates?

  1. Folded over corners in second hand books…just use a bookmark!
  2. Books that end extremely quickly…as though the author had given up and just wanted to get it over with at the end
  3. Books with bad grammer…as an avid book reader it shocks me that so many books have terrible grammtical errors

Describe your perfect reading spot.

A plushy window seat, a can of freezing cold Pepsi Max, and a bar of cookie-crumble Galaxy cookie crumble on the sill next to me and Lola our little bunny curled up at my feet. Perfect

Tell us three book confessions.

  1. I have never kept a bookmark for more than a couple of days; I am the most disorganised person, and bookmarks just seem to run away from me
  2. Reading a fiction book with parts underlined or circled really upsets me
  3. I never skip to the end of the book, I think it is a terrible thing to do!

When was the last time you cried during a book?

Re-reading the Book Thief, (and yes, I cried the first time too!)

How many books are on your bedside table?

I don’t have a bedside table…but on my desk there is a pile the length of my arm!

What is your favorite snack to eat while you’re reading?

Minstrels!

Name three books you would recommend to everyone.

This is hard—recommending books is so “person-specific”! I’ll list three books I often recommend to fellow booklovers—

  1. The Great Gatsby: Scott Fitzgerald
  2. Remember To Breathe: Simon Pont
  3. The Chocolate Run: Dorothy Koomson

Show us a picture of your favorite shelf on your bookcase.

It’s a thunderous afternoon; the rain is drizzling and you can hear the long droning rumble of thunder. With your hair dripping of rain water you throw yourself into the nearest coffee shop. Warm and inviting, you huddle over to the counter, and smile at the Barista. With a comforting grin he asks your order and gestures to the slanted bookcase on the other side of the shop. You stumble over, coffee in hand, grab a book and settle into the warm corner seat at the back of the darkened shop….
So question; what do you order? and what book do you choose to read? (No limitations!)
