Blogging Blubberings

jun25 (2)

It’s the first of AUGUST, and I’m kinda back, which is hella exciting. I explained why I took a reaaaaally extended blog break but I’ll leave you to read that here. I wanted to use today to really introduce a new MLBB. Before I left for the book break I really had had had enough of blogging, and I wasn’t quite sure whether I was going to keep it going. I think the difficulty with book blogging is that it sometimes feels like you’re creating the same content week by week, although that may just be me.

I’ve decided to strip back the reviews, to post less book tags (I think) and to post more thinking pieces about reading, products and giveaways, that kinda thing. I think although reviews for the last three years have been the bread and butter of my blog, they just don’t get the same response and to be honest I don’t read that many book reviews a week, but it’s a see how it goes process. I think what I’m trying to say is it’ll be the same ole Lizzy writing, the bright pictures and the bookish quotes, but just more of me?

The real reason for this post is to say thank you. Over my blogging break I hit 100,000 views on this little blog. It’s a bit of a shock to be honest with you and the biggest shock is that I’ve managed to keep it going this long, but  it’s a happy start to a new bookish time for this blogger and thank you to all of you. *Wipes tear.*

Happy Monday’s bookish bubbles.

101 things in 1001 days: 60,000 hits for my little book blog *eee*

101 things in 1001 days

Hellllllo readers, and happy Tuesday; I’ve quickly popped this post together because something a little brilliant has happened. As of today my little book blog has received 60,000 hits. 60,000! I can’t quite believe it, but when I put this post together a year or so ago I never thought I would hit this number, it seemed like an impossible feat at the time, and yet today, here we are. It’s a little crazy, a little emotional and just a bit shocking but thank you to you all that have wiggled over and had a ponder on all my bookish thoughts.

60,005

Now I’m over two years in, stats and followers and the like mean less to me as a blogger. As long as the people that come and read my posts still enjoy them I will continue to be over the moon, but this number just felt like the one that would say, “hey Lizzy you’re doing something right,” and I’m going to continue trying to do things right, now and onto the next milestone. But thank you for all you wonderful followers, tweeters, commenters, readers, authors, bloggers and publishers. You’re one in a million.

Right, I can’t actually put into words how happy I feel right at this minute; when I set up this blog eleven months ago, I never thought that it would lead to anything. This blog was created to be something, personal; a place for reflection and for myself. What has actually happened has not only shocked me but has sometimes moved me to tears. Today, I reached 10,000 hits on my blog and I have gained 1,000 incredible followers. Bloggers that want to listen to my thoughts, comment on my ideas, read my posts and reflect with me. I cannot thank you all enough for the confidence you have given me in not only my ideas and in my ability to write and review, but in my understanding of books and authors and therefore ultimately myself. Today, I received my first paper-back book through the post to read and review, and I was interviewed for a podcast as a guest reviewer. If you had told me all of that would have happened eleven months ago I would have laughed and told you that no matter what I did this blog would never have given me that much; and yet here I am. Close to tears, but smiling (^ as you can see above) All I can say is thank you. From the bottom of my heart, you lovely, lovely bloggers.
