The British Tag

Hellllllllo readers, it’s Friday which means it’s another book tag day which is always wonderful. However, something a little British rather than bookish from yours truly. Born and raised in Silverstone, Northampton, I’ve always been a little proud to be British. I love our odd way with words, I have an undeniable adoration of London and I am a sucker for Marmite and buttered toast. Stumbling upon this book tag I thought I would bring you a British tag for you to find out a little more about me.

How many cups of tea do you have a day? How many sugars?

This is probably my most fraudulent British quality; I don’t like tea a huge amount. I tend to drink two cups of peppermint tea or green tea per day; one when I get up and go for a shower and the second when I get into work.

Favourite part of your roast?

I guess all of it isn’t a sensible answer? I think maybe Yorkshire puddings covered in gravy. Gah

Favourite dunking biscuit?

I don’t drink a huge amount of tea, but you cannot beat a chocolate hob nob can you?

Favourite quintessentially British pastime?

I think picnics in the park in the summer; pork pies, mini scotch eggs and a lovely apple cider. Sounds bloody wonderful

“Favourite word?

I think ‘cor blimey’ may just be my favourite British phrase. For any of our friends over the pond it’s used as an exclamation of surprise. If I’m being terrible rude I also like the word bollocks but I’m a lady so should refrain from saying that one.

Cockney rhyme slang?

I don’t use a lot of cockney rhyming slang but Ruby Murray is most definitely a curry

Favourite sweet?

Flying Saucers, hands down.

What would your pub be called?

We have a wonderful pub in Stoke-on-Trent called ‘The Holy Inadequate,’ which I think is rather wonderful. If I had to pick, I think it would be ‘The Siren’s Call.’ I love Mermaids so that’s what I’m going to go with.

Number One British person?

Other than our lovely Lady the Queen; Audrey Hepburn and J K Rowling I would say.
