The Beast by Alex Bobrov

Casual Thursday post today. Oh and it’s an author question and answer. I adore author Q/A’s. They allow us such a personal insight into an authors writing process. I won’t warble on too more. Here is author Alex Boborv to talk about his book – The Beast.

Describe your book in 3 sentences

Poised precariously between imagination and madness, The Beast is a psychological and philosophical thriller and fast-paced action novel in which several personalities from parallel worlds come together in a single body at a turning point in their lives. It is a culmination of absolutely different tales, where the author balances on the edge of the conceivable, or, as he himself refers to it, on the verge of insanity.

What was the most important thing you learnt during writing this book?

This novel helped me to figure out who I am in this world and what my purpose is. But I knew that it could help others too. By introducing multiple personalities in the book, I revealed the complexity of human psyche. When it was completed, I felt satisfied with the outcome and was hoping that this book could be a lesson to others.

Anything you would change (now it’s out in the world?)

I do not wish to change anything in the book. I am happy how it turned out and hope that the second book in the series would be as good as the first one.

What is your writing process?

I wish I could say that I was writing the book at home at my leisure. In fact, I had to write it on my laptop on a subway, riding the train to and from work, hiding the screen so others wouldn’t peek.

Who’s your favourite character and why?

The main characters are my favorite. After all, they are the 4 shades of me. The Ordinary Man with his ups and downs in life, the Gladiator – a warrior without fear, the Assassin – methodic planner, and the Pervert – the dirty shade of every person. But if I had to choose one, I would pick Eve. She is intelligent, dedicated, career-oriented and, of course, very beautiful.

Is there a message in your novel?

No matter how deep you fall in the darkest pit, there’s always a way to go up. It’s about redemption. Fixing the past mistakes and, no matter how naive it may sound, making the world a better place.

How can readers discover more about you and you work?
