2k16 blogging resolutions for My Little Book Blog

Twenty-five things us bookworms are super awesome at

Helllllooo readers, who’s ready for a new year new me bullshit post?

Nah me neither thanks. I’m sorry I can’t cope with New Year, I’ve set so many goals over the past 15 or so years and if I had kept any of them I would be a size 8, would have started running (more than once in a rainbow coloured moon – ie never) and I would be working for my dream company in my dream job. But nada. I’m a size 11, non running female who is still making her way through the world of marketing. Not that I’m complaining.

The thing is I tend to be much better at keeping blog goals – last year’s were to write more and to write better. That was it, and it’s kind of worked. I have a schedule that I keep to that makes me write more and I for one think my writing has improved at least a little. Yes I still make spelling/grammatical errors but less so, I think. I’ve therefore decided to create a few blogging goals which I can hopefully keep over 2016 and maybe even set some more next year. We shall see.

Contribute more to the blogosphere

This may come as an odd one but the reason I have fallen so much more in love with blogging this year has been the conversation and although I try to read/comment/connect/tweet I go through lots of phases of not making enough time to contribute more and create a conversation. This year I want to rectify that.

Keep my email inbox at least a little tidier

One of my plans for 2015 was not to shut my review requests inbox or have a blogging break. Although I think blogging breaks are brilliant for me I know I just wouldn’t start again and would just leave it and leave it until I had a mountain of books to review. I did shut my email inbox though which was aggravating but needed. I hope to keep more on top this year.

Give authors deadline for book reviews (requested)

This one links to the second one, but I would love to be able to give authors an ETA for the book reviews I put together. Although I’ve worked on this a little this year I think updating my diary more regularly and keeping up to date with all my reviews is a big step for this year.

Take more of my own photographs for both review requests and bookish posts

I used to take a lot of photographs for my blog and then my camera got broken by some family member or another. I’ve meant to get a new one but rent/clothes/life bits, have just been getting in the way but I hope to take my own photographs soon.

Blog re-design?

This is a reaaaaaaaaaaaaaaal maybe at the moment, but I no longer really like the logo of my little book blog. I adored it when I had it created a year or so ago it just feels a little clumpy and I think although the theme works better it’s not perfect. I’m using instagram more and more and I’d like to potentially include more of that? We shall see.

KEEP BLOGGING

As always I want to keep blogging as much as possible. Taking on a full-time job has meant I have to be a hell of a lot more organised and sometimes say no to plans in order to have ‘content days’ but I wouldn’t have it any other way.

I think they’re all very sensible goals. The main thing is that you definitely “write better,” not that you were ever bad, but your writing has great energy that is fun to read.

      Hello!

So glad you liked the goals I’ve really tried to keep them easy and natural if that makes sens – just want to become a better blogger 😀

What kind of genre? My go-to reading slump book is The Chocolate Run by Dorothy Koomson which is a romance. Otherwise if you haven’t read it The Girl on the Train is an excellent excellent read 😀 xxxx
