When the characters start talking on their own in the work you are drafting and you cannot keep up with their dialogue the end result is Luigi Pirandello’s Six Characters in Search of an Author.
Six Characters in Search of an Author is a play by Luigi Pirandello. In it, a set of characters from one play storm a theater where ANOTHER play is being rehearsed. They (the characters) are looking for an author/creator, because the author who created/wrote them left them unfinished, in limbo. It’s rather funny.
I write shots stories (no, I’m not published, unless posting here, on tumblr, watt pad, & literotica count) although I probably will never write as well as Hemingway or Joyce Carol Oates. But I always aim to create living people…a bad guy you wanna hate, a love interest whose sexy mouth you can taste, etc.

gah YES!
