Social Media Book Tag

It’s Friday once again; where do the days go? However, that means it is time for another book tag and that’s a pretty wonderful way to spend a Friday lunchtime reading. The tag is based on Social Media and as many of my friends and family will happily divulge I’m a bit of a social media addict, especially Twitter and Instagram although I do have a Tumblr and a MySpace page knocking about somewhere. I will include links to all the social media I still use at the bottom if you fancy connecting with me outside of the blog and of course if you want to complete your own tag comment or tweet me @littlebookblog1

 Twitter: Favourite short book

At a truly astonishing fifty-five pages I’m going to go with The Metamorphosis by Franz Kafka. I dislike the word favourite but I think that this is a book that everyone should read at some point. The layers of thought that have gone into it in so few pages is truly genius and if you haven’t go read it, it’ll probably take you just short of your lunch break.

Facebook: A book that everybody pressured you to read

The Twilight Series by Stephenie Meyer but I resisted at the time and have to this day.

Tumblr: A book you read before it was cool

I rave about this book almost constantly but The Book Thief by Zusak. It pops up allllllllll the time but I definitely read it before it became a book blogging phenomenon.

MySpace: A book you don’t remember whether you liked it or not

Good question, I think maybe Rachel’s Holiday by Marian Keyes. I remember kind of disliking it but I’m not sure.

Instagram: A book that was so beautiful you had to instagram

I do tend to post a lot of images of books on Instagram because I’m constantly starting a new book or drinking coffee that I can’t afford and reading books for hours in coffee houses but one I’m reading currently is 1Q84 Haruki Murakami. It has a really intriguing cover and it looked beautiful in the sunlight on the train a week or so ago so I popped a photograph on Instagram.

YouTube: A book you wish would be turned into a movie

Addition by Toni Jordan, I think shot a little like Juno and with a hint of quirkiness throughout this would make a sublime film.

Goodreads: A book that you would recommend to everyone

I think, maybe, To Kill a Mockingbird by Harper Lee. It’s just brilliant.

So there you go, my social media tag. I now tag ‘Caught Read Handed’ to complete this tag!

This is a really great idea. Social media can be very bewildering. I love the idea of using instagram and pinterest, as reading is not just about the written word, but the images and the mood that a book inspires. I love shortreads, so I shall look out for Kafka “The Metamorphosis”. Everyone I’ve spoken to loves “The Book Thief” so maybe it’s time I put that on the list too!
