After a nine published novels, and another due out next month, I appreciate Sparks’ admission. That moment is so enjoyable.
But the novel I’m drafting now takes a different tack, one that required drafting the end before filling in the middle. Still, the final pages opened out in ways I hadn’t anticipated. Just to say, writing is always full of surprises.
