“When was the last time someone read aloud to you? Probably when you were a child, and if you think back, you’ll remember how safe you felt, tucked under the covers, or curled in someone’s arms, as a story was spun around you like a web.” ― Jodi Picoult, The Storyteller

I have to say that my husband has always read to me in bed. He works away for a great deal of the year but when he’s here seldom is there an evening when he doesn’t read to e for half an hour. It is such a wonderful, beautiful thing that I recommend it to everyone.

You know you’re right…it was when I was a child. Supposedly my mother read to me, only I don’t remember. What I remember is my father reading through funny papers to me.
