That kind of depends on why it made one angry: any badly written book will do that to me! But as for content, or approach to a topic … as you’ve said, I’m not sure.
It’s difficult to pinpoint one isn’t it! There are so many different qualities that can lead to an angry reader, annoying or weakly built up characters, a weak plot lines, slow pace, bad spelling or grammar! There are so many different things which makes it difficult to pick just one book!
I read The Lion, The Witch, and The Wardrobe, a few chapters a night, out loud to my children. Very special, happy memories!

My bad. I started to write this out and then thought maybe I shouldn’t put the rest of it in. But here goes… We were reading this amazing Narnia adventure series together where kids were the kickass heroes, and we just loved it until… the end, where all of a sudden we realized that our fun series was actually a not even thinly disguised VERY Christian allegory. Maybe we should have figured it out sooner, but as non-Christians, we were uncomfortable and felt betrayed and used. So yeah… angry much?
Alliengent. I’ll try to avoid spoilers, but the ending mad me mad. It wasn’t what happened to the character, it was how it was done. It seemed so stupid and unnecessary. Other ways would have made more sense to me, and it made me angry that it was done the way it was.
It’s annoying when it’s at the end of a book that you get mad! if it’s at the start then it’s not to bad but at the end it’s just not fair š¦
Fifty Shades of Grey. I did not judge it before I read it, and my feelings on it are not sourced in mocking it because it was a book aimed at women. That attitude is patronizing and it doesn’t sit well with me at all. My objections to it aren’t concern trolling but it was a poor book on a number of levels.
I read the first and second because of the hype that surrounded the books but I never made it to the end of the third! So many things were wrong with it, but I must admit I like the way it’s led to more reading and discussing of erotic style books!
I had started mine a few months before and I didn’t read it until after I had done a second draft. I don’t disparage anyone who has written, but it’s problematic.

That book made me so angry at the author. It wasn’t written very well toward the end and it just made me so mad!
oh it’s such a shame that when you get to the end a book goes completely downhill! š¦

Oh, geez. I don’t know. I have some indie published books that have annoyed me, but I actually think it was just the authors. I can’t really think of a book that angered me to the point I’d remember it, but now I’ll keep thinking back on it and let you know if I come up with something else!

Feeling so much better! Finally off the antibiotics and went out last night with friends without coughing over everyone which was amazing haha!
Definitely let me know! I think it’s a interesting question, I’ve got a couple, one was a exasperating book about a female character so mindless I found myself despairing with it from the word go. The other was so immoral in the stories it was conveying I felt ill!!
I don’t know if it was anger or disappointment… but I was pretty irritated with Heart of Darkness by Joseph Conrad. Yes, a ‘classic’ book made me angry which in turn probably makes me a bookish heathen. Woops!
