  1. Christopher Chinchilla says:

Oh my goodness, how true indeed. My short story, “Coffee in the Afternoon,” though purely invented, is heavily based on my parents’ religious conflicts. Another story, “The Green F-250,” explores my step-dad’s general douche-baggery. But it’s all good; it’s made me thankful for the crap I’ve experienced, because it’s producing great stories! This quote also reminds me of a quote from the Chaucer character in the movie, *A Knight’s Tale,* after he’s been stripped of his clothes and his life threatened after losing a bet. He manages to get out of it, but he tells the gamblers: “I will eviscerate you in fiction. Every last pimple, every last character flaw. I was naked for a day…you will be naked for eternity.” BAM! (And of course, this cleverly pointed to the creation of Chaucer’s Canterbury Tales.) So indeed, writing is my vengeance. 😉
